The cheesecake from Akron delicatessen, Lou & Hy's, is an original recipe.

 

  
True -  Although the recipe for the New York style cheesecake came from Lindy's in New York, it was modified over the years and is now considered "an Akron original."  Tage Hojfeldt, the chef at Lou & Hy's for 25 years, shared the recipe with the Akron Beacon Journal who published in the October 15, 2003 issue.
