The Indian statue at the intersection of Portage Path and West Market Streets name is Unk.

 

 

True - Kenneth Nichols, in his newspaper column in 1949, gave the statue the nickname "Unk, The All-Metal Philosopher."  For more information about the statue see:  http://www.akronlibrary.org/digital-lib/DLH0002A.html
